The Faithful Shepherd is in production
Our next project is a free video course that prepares men to serve as elders and deacons, made for every NAPARC church.
Many capable men turn down church office, or serve anxiously for years, because no one ever prepared them for it. The Faithful Shepherd is our answer: a cinematic video course that bridges the gap between a man’s call to office and his first day on the session or consistory.
The course has eight modules, plus opening and closing films. Four of them are for every office-bearer, two are for elders and two are for deacons. Four pastors from across the Reformed churches teach it, written from the first draft for Presbyterian and Continental Reformed churches alike.
Alongside the films, the Shepherd’s Portal will offer worksheets, quizzes and a certificate of completion for a man’s own records and his council’s. Like everything we make, it will be free to every church, forever.
How you can help
- Give. Gifts go through The Great Commission Foundation, which issues charitable receipts. Give to the project.
- Pray for the pastors who will teach, and for the men who will watch.
- Tell your council, session or consistory that it is coming, and sign up for the newsletter to hear when it launches.
